In front of Narumi Station lies Arimatsu, a place famous
for its tie-dyed cloth. Fabrics for summer kimonos, wrapping cloths, and kimono
belts made from cotton cloth dyed with Japanese indigo blue or red were among
the most popular. The yellow hue of the
sky in the background and drying fabrics swaying in the breeze evoke the golden
sunsets and warmth of Japanese summers.
