Rops’ personal motto was "Rops suis, aultre ne veulx estre" or "I am Rops and do not want to be another." The skeletal figures of Supreme Vice indicate Rops’ unfettered impulse to represent society’s vices. Here a couple is pictured, one stepping forth from a coffin, as crows flock noisily in the sky above.
